Window tinting in Croydon

Precision-cut film, fitted to a clean edge, in a shade that is right for the window it is going on.

Two things separate tint that lasts from tint that bubbles: what the film is made of, and how clean the glass was when it went on. We use film that rejects heat and UV rather than cheap dyed stock, and the glass is stripped, cleaned and squeegeed properly before anything touches it.

Film is cut to your exact glass from a pattern, so there is never a blade near your windows or your seals. That matters more on a modern car than it used to, with aerials, heating elements and sensors bonded into the glass.

How it works

  1. 01

    Pattern

Your glass is cut from a stored pattern, off the car. No knives near the seals.

  2. 02

    Prep

Windows stripped, cleaned and dried, and the workspace kept clear of dust.

  3. 03

    Fit

Film heat-shrunk to the curve of the glass, laid and squeegeed out from the centre.

  4. 04

    Cure

It leaves slightly hazy and clears on its own over the next few days.

  • Pattern cut to the glass
  • Laid and squeegeed
  • Finished rear privacy

Common questions

How dark can I legally tint my front windows in the UK?

For cars first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows at least 70%. Windows behind the driver are not restricted, so the rear can be as dark as you like. We fit fronts to the legal limit only.

How long before I can open the windows?

Three to five days. The film needs that time to bond and release its moisture, and dropping the glass early is the most common way people damage fresh tint.

Why does old tint go purple?

Cheap dyed film breaks down under UV and the dye shifts. Quality film uses a stable construction that holds its colour instead, which is why we do not fit the cheap stuff.

Can you remove tint that is already on the car?

Yes, including film that has started to bubble or has been fitted over the legal limit. Rear screens take longer because the heating elements have to be worked around rather than scraped.

Where we are

Window tinting is carried out at our own unit on Stanley Road in Croydon, along with everything else we do - design, print, wrap, tint, lighting and finishing all happen under one roof, so nothing gets subbed out and nothing gets lost between two workshops. We are a few minutes from the A23 and East Croydon, and we take cars from across South London and Surrey.
