Ceramic coating and detailing in Croydon
The coating is the last ten minutes. Everything before it is what actually makes the car look like that.
Most of what dulls a car is not the paint, it is thousands of fine scratches in the top of it from washing. They scatter light, and no wax or coating on top of them will bring the colour back. Correcting them is the job; the coating just locks the result in.
So we steam clean, pull the embedded iron and tar out of the paint, clay it, then machine polish until the swirls are actually gone under the lights. Only then does anything go on top.

Common questions
How is a ceramic coating different from wax?
Wax sits on the paint and washes off over weeks. A ceramic coating bonds to it and lasts years. The bigger difference day to day is that dirt struggles to key to a coated panel, so washing gets much easier.
Do I still have to wash the car?
Yes, just far less painfully. A coating is not a force field. It means dirt releases easily and water sheets off instead of sitting and marking.
Can you coat a car without polishing it first?
We would not. A coating over unprepared paint seals the swirls in, and you are stuck looking at them for the life of the coating.
Can wheels and glass be coated too?
Yes. Wheels benefit most. Coated wheels shed brake dust instead of baking it on, which makes them far quicker to clean.
