Interior LED and ambient lighting

Footwell, door card and dash lighting wired in behind the trim, so it looks like it came with the car.

Ambient lighting is easy to do badly. The giveaway is always the same: a strip stuck to the top of a door card, a wire under a mat, and a fuse tapped off whatever was nearest. It works for a while, then it rattles, flickers or throws a warning light.

We take the trim off and run the loom behind it. Everything is fused at the source and terminated properly, so the car goes back exactly as it came apart, with nothing visible and nothing to work loose.

How it works

  1. 01

    Strip

Door cards, sills and lower dash off, so the loom can run where it should.

  2. 02

    Route

Wiring run behind trim and through existing grommets, fused at the source.

  3. 03

    Set

Zones, colour and brightness configured, and tied to door and ignition if you want.

  4. 04

    Refit

Trim back on with its own clips, and a check for rattles before it leaves.

  • Loom run behind the trim
  • Zones set and colour matched
  • Finished ambient glow

Common questions

Will it throw a warning light on the dash?

Not when it is wired to its own fused feed rather than spliced into a circuit the car is monitoring. That is the main reason we route it properly instead of tapping the nearest wire.

Can it match my car's existing ambient lighting?

In most cases yes. Bring the car in and we can match the colour to what is already there, or replace the lot so it is consistent.

Does it affect my manufacturer warranty?

Some manufacturers take a view on aftermarket electrical work. We will tell you exactly what a job involves before we start, so you can make that call.

Can I turn it off?

Yes, from the app or remote, and it can be set to come on with the doors or the ignition rather than being on permanently.

Where we are

Interior LED & ambient is carried out at our own unit on Stanley Road in Croydon, along with everything else we do - design, print, wrap, tint, lighting and finishing all happen under one roof, so nothing gets subbed out and nothing gets lost between two workshops. We are a few minutes from the A23 and East Croydon, and we take cars from across South London and Surrey.
